Product Information

During training, your peak power is linked to the condition of your muscle tissue. As muscle tissue is made from amino acids, the quality and supply of these amino acids is crucial to building muscle and achieving greater performance. Your body cannot be expected to build a strong structure without the most essential materials so Bulletproof provides free-form, pharmaceutical grade amino acids, the key building blocks of muscle tissue.

Bulletproof provides rapidly delivered, free-form amino acids. This helps prevent catabolism as the body can draw from this store instead of drawing amino acids out of existing muscle tissue.

Many people can absorb very poor quality protein. Think of muscle tissue as a block wall; it cannot be as strong with blocks missing. Missing blocks mean poor results and less strength. Taking Bulletproof with other protein sources can help turn those sources into complete protein. This improves the overall quality of your protein intake, making it much more effective for building stronger, denser muscles.

Amino Acid Building Blocks

Amino acids are what makes up protein. When protein is digested it is eventually broken down into individual amino acids, that are then selectively reassembled in different combinations for different uses. These newly formed proteins are what make up almost all of the body, especially muscle tissue. Under intense exercise the body requires more of all amino acids and much more of certain specific ones. Bulletproof contains 22 amino acids which are crucially free-form and pharmaceutical grade.

Free-Form

Through digestion, protein is broken down into amino acids before they are absorbed into the bloodstream and added to the body's amino acid pool. Free-form amino acids are not bound together so they do not require any digestion. This means that they are absorbed into the bloodstream and made available to the muscles and other tissues very quickly.

Bulletproof contains pure, powdered, free-form amino acids so they do not require digestion, which means more of them can be absorbed at a much faster rate. This is very different to many amino acids products that simply contain capsulised protein powder.

Complete Protein

The protein we eat contains different combinations of amino acids depending on the type of protein present. However, many natural sources of protein are incomplete, meaning that they are deficient in certain essential amino acids. For protein synthesis to occur, a good supply of amino acids is crucial. If any of the essential amino acids are missing then synthesis is stopped.! This mean that you can consume protein without much of it being usable.

When taken with other foods, the amino acids in Bulletproof can provide many of the amino acids. This improves the overall amino acid profile of the protein you are eating and allows you absorb a much better quality protein.

Amino acids are considered to be the building blocks that make up protein and are necessary for building and repairing muscle. Elsom Bulletproof contains 22 free-form (completely separate), pharmaceutical grade amino acids.

Take two tablets three times a day, preferably with meals.

Why would I use Bulletproof?
Use Bulletproof as an extra source of fast-absorbing amino acids, the building blocks of muscle tissue. Take with meals to improve the overall amino acid profile or take on their own simply to provide a fast source of muscle-building amino acids.

When / how do I use Bulletproof?
Click on the "Directions" section above for detailed information.

Can I take Bulletproof if I have a medical condition/am pregnant?
If you suffer from a medical condition or are under medical supervision of any kind, it is recommended that you consult your healthcare practitioner before taking Bulletproof or any sports nutrition product.

Is Bulletproof better than taking regular sources of food?
All of the amino acids found in Bulletproof can, of course, be found in regular sources of food and we strongly recommend a balanced diet in conjunction with Elsom products. However, the only way to consume free-form amino acids directly is in supplement form like those found in Bulletproof. This form has the added benefits of being very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream.

Can I take Bulletproof before I go to bed?
Bulletproof can be taken before bedtime. For an additional prolonged release protein source that lasts through the night consider taking Elsom Core.

Are there any side effects?
There are no common side effects to amino acids such as those found in Bulletproof.

How long can I take Bulletproof for?
Bulletproof can be taken long term without any adverse effects.

How long will it take to notice the benefits?
Many people report a strengthing and toning effect after taking Bulletproof for a couple of weeks. Watch out for firmer muscles and an increase in overall energy too.

How long will this Bulletproof last?
At the recommeded dosage of 6 tablets per day, a tub of Bulletproof lasts for 30 days.

How should I store my Bulletproof?
Free-form amino acids should be kept in a tightly sealed container at all times in a cool, dry place.

How are essential and non-essential amino acids different?
The body is able to make non-essential amino acids from other amino acids in the body. However, the body is not able to make essential amino acids and the only way to get them is by eating high quality protein foods.

Why would I take Bulletproof instead of Core since both are sources of protein? Are they interchangable?
Elsom Core is recommended as your primary source of muscle-buildling protein. Take Core throughout the day to increase your overall protein intake and to make sure you're getting enough protein to repair and rebuld after training. Bulletproof contains free-form pharmaceutical grade amino acids that do not require digestion. These amino acids are extremely high quaity and are rapidly delivered to the muscle helping you build stronger, denser muscle for greater performance and a better physique.

Can too many protein / amino acids damage my kidneys?
It is not recommended to take excessive amounts of protein or amino acids over a long period of time. However at the recommended dosage, Bulletproof only contributes 6g of protein per day. Overall daily protein intake for active people is around 1.6g of protein per 1kg lean body mass so the addition of Bulletproof is very unlikely to raise your protein levels inordinately.

Will I lose all the benefits if I stop taking Bulletproof?
As with any sports nutrition product what happens when you stop taking them depends on your training program and general diet. Elsom products are intended to work as tools in a highly effective sports nutrition program and we encourage you to use the products, watch for results and experiment to find what works best for you.
